That's what I did as well. I ran the yellow wire from the relay to the middle terminal on the switch, the blue wire for the switch to the ground (a bolt on the dash) and the green wire from the switch to the cigarette lighter so the lights will turn off when the key is off in case I forget to turn off the switch.

Here is my thread if it helps: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...-my-grill.html

Ok if you havent finished the wiring yet, something to consider, Im gonna wire mine to the battery so I can turn them on without havent the truck on at all.. The reason I do this for all the lights on any truck I own is because quite often I get stuck camping in the bush somewhre and after driving an hour or so up a logging road the spot i choose has NO light, so its nice to be able to use everything you got for an hour or so to light up everthing while you set up or tent or chop wood and dont have to have your truck running wasting gas and being loud..

I don't have to have my truck cranked up for the lights to come on. Just the key turned to the ACC position. It's just one step more than what you are saying by wiring them straight to the battery. It accomplished the same thing with the added benefit of not being able to walk away from my truck and leaving the lights on accidentally to drain the battery.

Yah I was thinking of that with my first truck but I came back to the fact that i like to be able to have my keys in my pocket and lock the truck. It happens often that we meet random people up in the mountains that are camping to and we will all hang out and have drinks together and if the lights are on for extra light somewhre else which happens often, I like to hvae the truck locked with a bunch of people around I dont know. And Ive never walked away from my truck forgetting the lights on, I dont use them during the day cause there is no point and if you can walk away from a truck with 2 hellas going at night then I dunno if your safe to even be driving..

How would I connect it to the cigarette lighter? Would I use like a connecting piece that would attach to a wire from the cig outlet? I don't think I would know how to do that one.

Touché! Very good point.
Senomar_DTK, I ran the green wire under the steering wheel and behind the dash and connected it to the pink wire with the yellow stripe (I think) that plugs into the cigarette lighter. I used one of these to splice it:

Ok I did it!

finally and it works

I'm excited and I just need to go out and buy more wire tube protector stuff and make it all neater.

But one thing that I'm worried about is that the little blue light on my switch stays on when its down or up, is that how it is and if not is it going to drain my battery over time?

I decided to hook the green wire from the switch up to the battery as well because that seemed the easiest thing to do.

And i had a hard time finding a ground for the switch under all the dash stuff so I just mounted it somewhere to the side

here are also some pictures, I will take better ones when its not 16 degrees outside!
