Default Calling all cam experts

I've been holding the secret for a while, and I'm finally serious about doing the job. I've done quite a bit of searching over the last couple days trying to find the exact cam I want. The majority of the searches were people looking for a mild-mid cam capable of being tuned with canned tune -- not relevant to my requests (too tame persay)

Heres what I want:

1.) Low end cam (similar to a CC 260 or KRC 210 variance)
2.) Not necessarily tamed with a canned tune. If necessary im going to get an SCT tuner and do the SC/SCT stack to allow for a more aggressive cam (and custom tune with it). The way I see it, the best gains come from a cam that has a custom tune (something most people stray away from because they want to use their existing tuner).
3.) My truck is a weekly driver (as opposed to daily driver), so I care about streetability, but want some grunt as well.

Whos got some suggestions for cams? I also need to know some contact info for where to buy these from (custom grind cam as well as someone to write the custom tunes for it). Thanks

Comp 260 is a good choice. The 268 would be the upper limit. I think I would spend the money on a better torque converter first.

260 is a good base, but you can use it with a canned SC tune, correct? which translates to me as "weak and pathetic, compared to what a custom tune could bring"

I'm not interested in the 268. I'll probably be doing both soon, but im gonna do the cam first

thanks silver. that one looks comparable to the 268. to mid-range focused and not aggressive enough (tuned with canned tune)

A 268 would be absolutely the wrong cam for you. It's a high revving cam for light trucks and track use. You have a lifted qc with big tires. A 260 variant is going to be more to your liking. Just because a cam will run on a canned tune doesn't mean it's not leaving a lot on the table. Contact Stu at Inertia Motor Sports. He can custom grind you a torquey cam that is just begging for a tune to unleash it. Torque cams are very streetable, high rpm cams are less so for our style of truck. Have you seen the vid of my truck lighting them up on a canned tune? Imagine what it would do with a custom tune.

Thats exactly my point George. I'm not interested in a 268 for that reason. As mentioned in the OP, the 260 and KRC 210 are close to what im looking for, but i bet i can get it even better than those with a custom tune. How do I get ahold of Stu? Does he write SCT tunes for it also?
