Default Just ordered myself my first cb.

I had some extra cash so I bought myself that cobra dx iv since I wanna start out with something less expensive and simple. Also got a k-30 magnetic antenna for it since I don't want a huge antenna sitting on my truck and the k-30 seemed ok size.

Still gotta figure out where I will want to mount it and hopefully it will be easy to hook up.

If you got any suggestions or whatever just comment.

ur very next step should be to go to radio shack and get a PA horn and mount that bad boy behind your front bumper. your cobra has a PA function. when you arent using it as a cb you can make yourself cry from laughing so much by messing with people over the PA!!! its freakin awesome!! lmao

Be sure to calibrate the SWR! K line almost always has to be adjusted (Raised or lowered) Run a K30 myself on roof! http://www.roadtripamerica.com/Equip...io-Antenna.htm

Ok so I cancled the order on the cheaper cobra 19 and instead i ordered the cobra 29 ltd with Bluetooth since I did some better researchin.

But now with this hooked up will it put any strain on my battery? I don't know much about that and just wanna be safe and make sure I can run this along with all the other things.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks again

Have left mine on with the truck off for an hour and no problem. While running no issues either. Good choice on the radio pic. If possible get it peaked from the company your buying it from if they offer that service! Gives you a bit more wattage power for transmitting and recieving.

800 watts? Wow, I've never ran that kind of power on my ham rig in my vehicle. That's incredible power for what you are doing and I sure hope the FCC doesn't read this forum. Other than DX, there are going to be a lot of people that can hear you that you will never hear. Good luck!
