Default 2" truxx leveling kit, extended shocks needed?

Title says it all. I am putting a 2" level on the front of an 08 ram 1500 2wd. The kit is a bolt on, and says I will not NEED to get extended shocks. Does anyone know if this is a fact, or will I need to get exteded shocks? thanks for the help.

I can't speak for the '08's. On mine when I put the coils on it was like riding in an extremely stiff sfa truck. I got new shocks and they actually let the truck move. Until I got new shocks my suspension travel on the front was limited by how far the factory shock would let it move. When I changed it was night and day. You may not need it with the changes from an '04 to and '08. I'm not sure, hopefully someone will chime in.

Thanks for the response. I have searched but get different answers from anyone. I almost wish I had not bought this kit. I don't know what the heck I am doing.

It's ok my friend. What is the kit you got? Are you doing the install yourself?

They are two big metal looking donuts that get put on the coils. It is a bolt on if that helps.

thanks cheapbeater, will that level the truck. I am worried about sagging in the back when hauling something. Should I get a 1" block to help the back while towing? All I haul is 4 wheelers and stuff like that. No travel trailers or anything. Will I need an alignment afterwards also? the kit comes with alignment instructions, should I take those to someone and have it done?

Put it on. You will know if you need shocks in the first 20 seconds of driving it. You'll feel it. Get an alignment when your friend gets done too. It will level your truck very nicely.
