Yeah, I posted earlier I was going to do a 0-60 run b/c I thought I remember that option on the SC, and post a youtube vid of myself and a hemi when I found a hemi guy willing to do it. Just don't like it when people come on here and flame for no reason, before they even -see- any data. Thanks for being decent, off-road teacher.

All I was saying is, I sure cant get those kind of results, and no one I have talked to with a 02 5.9L is getting those results either. Maybe you are, but if you are, you are getting FAR better numbers than any of the rest of us. I would like to see the video. Again I am not trying to start anything, but at the same time I think the OP deserves realistic numbers to be expecting out of these MODS on his truck.

FYI: Also, I bought the truck with 60k miles on it, but everything seemed un-modded. Don't know what was done before I owned it. It had no lift, no engine mods(that I could see), or anything when I bought it, so I'm just assuming it was stock. I'll do vids and data log today.

IMO The best mod that will improve all around performance specially Torque is 4.56 gears specially for big tires but just as good for stock.
Ignition is also a must.

Did a little research on the numbers this morning, b/c it's still to cold to go outside and test

Here is what I got from respectable websites:

360
---

base 250 HP
335 TQ

hemi
----

base 345 HP
375 TQ

difference = 95 HP, 40 TQ

mods
----

superchips 3815 on 5.9 = +47 HP, +59.4TQ (straight off SC website)
complete ignition = +10 HP (calc'd off mopar crate engine) minimal gain
straight exhaust = +5 HP (probably more, as the muffler is restrictive on DR's)
K&N = +8 HP (straight off K&N website)
Premium fuel = %2 more HP (scientific fact)

250 hp + 47 = 297HP, + 10 = 307HP, +5 = 312HP, +8 = 320HP + 2% (6.4HP) = 326.4HP
335 tq + 59 = 394TQ (not incl TQ from other mods)

326.4HP, 394TQ (does not incl synthetic oil variable)

Give or take for the new rev limit maxed 500 more RPM's(not sure the equation to factor this in)

360 = more torque(19 more TQ), and 19 less HP at this point.

Straight up looking at numbers vs. numbers, the 360 can easily keep up with a stock hemi. I'll post data log + vid in a bit. It's only like 20 still here.

I got faith in ya man, I can't wait to see how that big girl does. If you can make that thing smoke a Hemi, I can damn sure make mine do it then with a few more mods.

lol, allthough I'd love to smoke a hemi, hemi's are wicked motors from stock. remember in the beginning, all I said was I was able to keep up with the hemi when we raced. it was basically a tie by the time we hit the stoplight. if you want to beat a hemi with some leeway, I'd say you'd need some 1.7's, cam, and 4:56's. those may be on my list depending on how much extra I have laying around.

but just remember, you have to do all these mods to the 360 to match and barely beat a stock hemi. if you put the same amount of $ into a stock hemi with these types of mods, hemi will wreck the 360. remember, were talking mod vs stock.

the reason I don't go all out(supercharger or turbo), is because for $1000 you can implant a hemi into your 02 ram. last craigslist search I found a hemi with 98k on it for $1000, complete with wiring. should of hopped on it, but I don't have a garage anymore since I moved to CO, I just have a packed full storage unit with my camaro and bike, and I live in an apartment:-)

That's true, I completely forgot about that but the Hemi also loses power through the trans as well. I just don't know if they lose about the same through the trans?
