Biggest bi*ch about the whole e-fan install process is getting the damn clutch fan off IMO. You have to think of it like changing a lawn mower blade, where you have to jam a block of wood or something so the blade won't move to get the nut off. Same principle.
I ended up making a tool out of a 2x4 and a couple of bolts thru it that fit in those two holes, this held everything and then allowed me to spin the clutch fan off.
It only took losing the skin off the knuckles of both hands before I got the idea.

I know some who were able to just jam a big screwdriver down in there to get it done...

Put you a large flat screwdriver somewhere between the belt and the water pump pulley. watch that you do not damage the belt or pulley. Turn the large nut between the fan and the water pump and it should spin right off.

my buddy built a tool and its very simple idea if u find a wrench that will fit around it and hit it with a hammer at a slight angle the fan will loosen and u can spin it off by hand

I used a large strap wrench around the pulley and a wrench on the hex portion. The thing was still a ball buster

Does anyone have a diagram as to how to wire this e-fan mod up and what parts are needed to complete the task? I looked the other night but didn't have any luck finding a complete how to.

One simple way of doing it is to find a couple of bolts that barely fit in the holes on the front of the water pump pulley. Once you have the bolts in the holes, take a long wrench or screw driver and prop the bolts so that it will give resistance turning the bolt counter clockwise. Or if you build a tool, I think the distance between holes was 3 1/2 or 1/4 inches apart if memory serves me correct. I drilled holes in a piece of metal that distance apart. Then I took a couple of bolts and slid them through the holes and welded them in place. Then welded on a handle and now I have a tool to remove the fan... Ironically it's coming off for the last time hopefully today.

Anyone interested in a basic functionality tool that works great? (ie, functional but not pretty) Pay shipping and it's yours.

Also, since I just went through trying to track this info down...

and

a good read...

Good luck.
