Lol Joe, smartazz I promised ya'll Id try an chill on the pics, till the level was done, haha. Oh trust me, it crossed my mind, but oh well, I didn't wanna hear anything from the peanut gallery. So much for that

NOW, any insight to what I said? Is the build up in the plenum just from lack of cleaning, or...... And how bout that gas smell and the oil cap?

Pouring it on thick this evening aint ya buddy? I wont sniffing my oil cap, till I smelled the gas, then yea, I did take a whiff.....

Yeah, it was at least as bad as your pics. But damn how did you get it that clean? The butterfly anyways, the backside of it is still kinda copper-colored. I used some wearever brake parts cleaner, and scrubbed and scrubbed with a shop rag. Couldnt get it shiny though, no matter what.

cant help myself LOL

It took a few cans of brake cleaner and a few hours. I started with soaking each side for about 15 mins in the cleaner, then after that Id take a rag and wipe out all the gunk. There were several spots that was really caked on and didnt want to come off. I soaked and scrubbed those spots over and over again until I got to what the pictures show. I wasnt satisifed with how much was still left in the butterfly so I took it back off, grabbed some q-tips, soaked each q tip in cleaner and went to town scrubbing each spot till nothing foriegn was left on the TB. It was tedious and not the best New years day in my life but nontheless was glad I got it done.

Since then, I've cleaned it 2 times over the last 25,000 miles. Once when I got my new CAI, and then I did a few days ago when I changed my sprak plugs and PCV valve. I sprayed a few shots of brake cleaner on both sides and all the build up just washed right off. Found out its much easier and quicker to clean when you don't wait long intervals between cleaning.
