Default Throttle Body Cleaned

I cleaned my throttle body today using a DIY post I found on this site. It worked perfectly and only took 30 minutes start to finish. The truck has just over 100,000 miles on her and it had never been done. I'm not sure if the truck will run better since it already runs like new but a little preventitive maintenance goes a long way. Just wanted to say thanks for the DIY post and keep em coming.

nice, i bet the back of that thing was caked with soot. You should have some better throttle response now.

Yeah it was black as coal especially inside the intake tube behind the throttle body. It took a whole can of brake cleaner but she was sparkling clean when I finished. I recommend it to everyone since it was such an easy project.

Good job, now all you need is a good catch can to keep that stuff from getting sucked back into the manifold and collecting there.

You can thank the gov'ment and all their emissions crap for that! The EGR dumps right behind the throttle body and is why the back of that plate is so crudded up.

I clean mine every 15,000 miles and it's filthy every time I do.

Glad to see the DIY's and the FAQ section are helping y'all out...

Whatever cleaner you use make sure it is non-chlorinated and keep it away from the electronics
