Default TRX4 guys..

Who here has a leveling kit on your TRX4? What size and type of kit are you running? Lastly, what size tires did you fit on there after leveling the truck out?

I've heard way too many things about the TRX4s suspension and tires sizes.. some say you can do 35s after a leveling kit. Some say not to even do a leveling kit.

I just ordered the 2" kit (heard the 2.5" kit raises it a tad too much since the TRX4 is already a tad higher up front). I would like to know what size tires I can run and if I will need spacers, etc. Any info from guys that actually have a TRX4 and a leveling kit would be highly appreciated.

Thanks
Sam

I understand that most Rams only need a leveling kit to put 35s on, but my question is TRX4 specific because we have rubbing issues from the factory. I've heard myths of wheel spacers needed, etc. Also, what about off road? You may not rub on the highway but for those of us that hit the trails, will a bump send a 35" tire into parts that it shouldn't be hitting?

The last myth that I've heard is that 35s are fine on a leveled TRX4 but you cannot use the stock rims because they are not wide enough. Does this sound correct as well? Just looking to see what I'll need and if a leveling kit will let me use 35x12.5 tires on an aftermarket rim with or without a spacer. Stock rims are out of the question, right?

I'm not exactly sure. That's why I'm asking for TRX4 owners to help me out. As far as I know it's just a longer strut combo. Something about our stock 17s rubbing with the stock 265/70/17s.

I think the only difference is a painted monotube shock
here is the website I found this at

http://www.pickuptrucks.com/html/200...500/page2.html

Following the success of the Dodge Power Wagon, the Ram 1500 will get it own off-road trim package. Called the TRX4, this model includes 17-inch alloy wheels, aggressive off-road tires, painted monotube shocks, tow hooks, skid plates and a limited-slip differential. Other features include fog lamps, body-color grille and TRX4 decals. The TRX4 package is available in 2- or 4-wheel-drive models, both regular and Quad cab configurations and with all three trim levels: ST, SLT and Laramie. Officials don’t expect the TRX4 to draw customers away from the highly-praised Power Wagon

so it should be exactly the same as any ram the same year, just a different trip package, wheels and tires and full skid plates. but as far as level and tire fitment, it should be the same
