Default Key question & back seat question

hey guys,

i am very new to this forum... jus got an 07 quad cab 4x4. i have two questions,

1. is there a way to make and ignition key w/o having to pay big bucks at the dealership?
- i went and had a key cut, tried to start my truck, and it would, but it wouldn't stay running.
-
2. is there a way to make the back seat fold down?

thanks guys...

you have to have the chipped key in the truck... the truck wont stay lrunning without the chip obviously this is for anti-theft... i think you can hide a chipped key in the truck and then the cut unchipped key will work... but the anti theft wont work anymore..
i dont have a chipped key ('03) but from what i have heard; this will work... try it

just pull the back seat to fold it down... check to make sure it isnt strapped up of something

Welcome to DF!!

I dunno on the seat gonna try it I know the bottom goes up without a hitch. On the keys it sucks a hidaway isn't gonna work in cold climates that batt. ihe remte will surely die but I wonder if it would still work door uh duh, but ignition wise. Anyone try a dead remote key and started their truck??? o5 or later is my guess.

Oh and the rear seat will not fold down mine didn't budge...

seats fold up, not down and i think thats about as much as you can do with them. the key has to be a dealer key, not one cut at the hardware store. As stated above they have a chip of whatever in them as an anti-theft device. Key battery does not have to work for the truck to run but obviously the remote (door lock/unlock) part of the key wont work.

The rear seat does just pull up. Now, if you want the rear seat to also fold down here's a diy:

EDIT: Also as far as your key, the one of the better guys to help you will be dirtydog. He's pretty good with that stuff.

good luck

Should fold all the way up against the seatback. Once I get mine started, they finish on their own.

If you follow oe's write up the back seat folds down flat any time you want it to.
It took about 10 minutes to do.
