I have them for the wife, I am 6'6" so I don't need them at all. I like the look of them off.

I took mine off right after getting the truck. They are very functional for getting in the truck AND if you ride a little, but they are ugly IMO. Like dog said, Old Man-ish

But my gf begs me to put them back on. Shes 4ft11 though. My old truck had them and she used to bitch about her heels getting caught on them if she used them, so she doesnt know what she wants

Just took mine off, they were a PITA to get off lol. Took me nearly 5 hours with awkward positioning and rusted on bolts

im 6'1"...dont NEED it but they are convenient and help the shorter people. Also they to provide a lil extra protection and i really dont think they look bad (im 22, no old man)
EDIT: i also use them to wipe down the roof after a bath and to access the back of the bed (cab end) so they are pretty functional

I like the look of side steps personally. I didn't vote, because there wasn't an option for like them, but don't have them yet. I almost bought a set the other day. I don't mind used ones if they're in good shape.... let me know, we might be able to work out a deal. I'm in Indy.

Well, I just took mine off about an hour ago.
Who said it took them like 5 hours? Dude, what were you doing? It took me 10 minutes. LOL.
Anyways, I like the look better without. But Joe.....Im getting married soon and if we decide to start making babies right away, I might need them, so im gonna hold onto them for now. if I change my mind, Ill let you know.

i have and i'm a lazy f%$k!! So they are to me (the cat's a$$). Iwouldn't have em on if I didn't need them. Let you get in and out without wearing out the edge of the seat! Now that's functionality!!

LOL! Sounds like you got a "stock" girlfriend..."doesn't know what she wants"

I'm brand new to the Ram World. I just bought an '03 Quad 1500. It doesn't have nerf bars yet, but will soon. It's stock but too hard for the little ones to get in for now, though they don't complain. They're lovin' the new ride as much as dad

Nerf bars like my OEM ones are fine. I like the look and function. Old man looking would be running boards, not bars.
