Default Side steps...yay or nay

Im thinking about losing my side steps. they are the chrome ones that came with the truck. Westin, I think. I liked the look at first, but I really dont need them. My GF uses them when she gets in, but she can live without. What do you guys think. BTW, this is my first poll, so bear with me.
Also, post up your with and without pics.
Thanks

I think they are functional on lifted trucks. Helps folks from hanging on the doors while they climb in or out. I don't need them, so I don't have any.

Although I'm tall and get in/out with ease...I think they make trucks look "old manish" IMO unless the truck is lifted as Redtruck stated

On my 4x4 I put them on after I levelled the front rake and added 33's. A must with the Mrs. When I eventually lift the truck higher, I plan on getting the ones that have the extra foot piece below the tube cause they look real good and not many guys are running those.

I have them for 2 reasons.... 1st so the short people in my life can get in the truck & 2nd so that when I'm on a trail my rocker panels have something to block branches from coming up and denting the rocker panel... yeah it happened when I had them off and it is the only dent on my truck... (oh I was so pissed at the time... poor baby... hahaha)
