ok here goes. so when i bought my truck over a year ago it had a ******** xl2000 tonneau cover on it. i thought it was pretty kewl but recently i have been thinking about getting rid of it and getting a tool box. well it has always made a little noise rubbing against the cab but the last few days its been making a lot of freaking noise. so tonight when i got to my buddies house i decided to check it out. i broke out my flashlight and got to looking and what do i find? the freakin mount has worn a hole through the sheet metal of the cab of my freakin truck!! i was so freakin pissed!!!!! i contemplated taking it off right there and borrowing one of my buddies rifles and shooting that mofrucker!!!!! but then i looked it up on line and found out that the thing is worth over a grand!!!!! so im gonna sell the biotch and get me a toolbox! i am probably gonna have to file with my insurance to get the body work done though!! this crap sucks!!! ok freakin rant over!!!!

That blows man! Im sorry that happened, what exactly was it that was rubbing against the cab?

 

the way the lid mounts it has a tab that fits into a slot at the front of the bed. that tab holds the front of the cover down to the truck. well that tab has rubbed on the metal enough that it has worn a hole in the sheet metal!!!

 

wow that sucks man. sell that cover quick. You might just get enough to buy a toolbox and get that fixed. gl
