I highly doubt it. The only thing the OEM does is sound off when a door is opened. You could break the glass and climb in all day and not set anything off. You will need something aftermarket my friend.

i figured as much i was just hoping for an easy fix. i found the most bad *** viper alarm on amazon.com for 199.00 best buy wants 549.00 but i have to buy the by-pass 60.00 on amazon and pay them to install it-200.00 i still come out about 230.00 ahead of what they want for the same alarm

I won one of those bypass modules once on an auction for someone else and they never paid me for it so i never paid for it. I think I wont it for 20-25 bux.

I paid about 250 for my Clifford 50.7x and I love it. Its an awesome system. Ive got the built-in shock sensor, an add-on shock, a glassbreak and a backup battery

i have a push button start.....i love it
the SRT-10 you have to mod and get an electrical washer and blah blah blah. i got a Honda S2000 push button start...ya honda...lol....it fits right in the cigarette lighter, and it comes with a chrome bezel, and its very lightly back lit with red at night...looks sweet. just wire it into a relay, and tap into the yellow wire in the ignition...easy as pie. you can cut the yellow wire and have the push button only start it (thats what i have) or you can just tap into the yellow wire and have both the key and the button start the truck. very easy and cheap mod. found the button on ebay for $35.

Hey guys, Ive been watching this thread and decided I might do this. What do you guys think of this button?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PUSH-...Q5fAccessories

It will match all the other blue leds in my truck. Just wanna clarify, you gotta tap into the yellow wire on the harness connected to the ignition switch? Any other wires? I looked at that dudes DIY and it didnt really say what they connected to.

Is it power, ground, and a wire running to the ignition switch? Thanks!

Yeah daniel that looks pretty good. From what i've looked up you also have to splice in a 1.80 ohm reisitor going to the ignition wire. I havent re-read it in a while, and it may only pertain to the srt10 push button so i may be telling you wrong.

Here is a how to that someone showed me.

I didn't use a relay or resistors. Just one wire tapped into the 5v ignition sensing wire which i believe was violet/brown, and the other to ground. Anytime you push the button it grounds the wire which starts the truck. If you're using a factory SRT button just run the sensing wire to pin 1 and a ground wire to pin 5. The button doesn't light up so there is no need for a 12v source.
