I have an 06 ram 1500 2wd and i have been pondering this. Is it possible to get an srt10 viper truck push button start switch and use it to use push button start instead of turn key start? I have like 6 wiring harness plugs (all different sizes and shapes) behind the radio bezel piece and im wondering if one of them is a possible plug for the button switch used in the srt 10 truck.. The PBS on the srt10 truck is right where the left cubby hole is on a regular ram's radio bezel is (I think)... I have found a few online and it looks like the cubby hole and the push button start will change out by looking at where the screws go. Anyone want to burst my bubble LOL.

 

up in the 3rd gen ram faqs section there is an awesome, very detailed, write up/tutorial on how to do this.

 

You don't have the actual plug in for it but you can wire up your own. Even on the SRTs and 99% of push button start vehicles you still have to have the key in the ignition. I bought a SRT start button from the dealer. It was around $50. That's more than most after market start buttons but i like things looking factory.

06s are wired different.

Well yeah your gonna have to have the key in the ignition, How else you gonna turn the wheel????

where the cheapest place to get a srt10 push button with the factory style bezel? I have found button and bezel for 54 bucks plus shipping. Is that about the best price im going to see?
