im looking to get a cai for my 07' this week but not sure of what brand. i know k&n is pretty much the leader but have any of you guys had any luck with mgs and hp with the other cheaper brands

Make your own. Thats what I did. $20 in parts at Home Depot. Works great.
Search homebrew cai or shtter pipe. something like that.

or visit my profile page I have a pictrure for ya. Do what you want but after realizing what a cai does really why blow the bread on someone elses trip too the hardware store.

i made my ram air box out of an exterior clothes dryer vent box!! $9

saved about $250

You can make a nice one out of aluminum piping that you can purchase online. Looks real good and cost me $60. I can provide links to the stores I bought my parts from.

the important part of the CAI is the filter... $12 in PVC pipe, $6 in paint, $10 in clamps and misc hardware, $35 in a K&N cone filter and you're set. Beats the hell out of $200-$300 for something with the exact same functionality.
