Default seperate battery?

ok so i had some cheap offraod lights from walmart behind the grill before. they were wired to the truck battery along with an amp. well i started getting weak starts and it turns out the lights killed my battery. I was told the make specail battery's for things like lights and stuff so u dont use the truck battery. is this necessary? I got a grilleguard and want to get some of the Hella 500's on there but i dont want to have to ruin another battery. any ideas?

I would do a voltage check your bleeding volts somewhere dunno where but you kill batteries by using them w/out recharging them.

Anything optima seem to be **** from the experience I have had with them. In all honesty the best batteries I have bought were Interstates or AC Delco. Both cheaper and both last longer. But if you want the purple koolaid optimas then go for it.

Yeah, two batteries. I have two. One on the D/S and one on the P/S. Both are 1000 CA's each and wired together on my stock 136a alt with no issues.
