i change it every 3K, im loosing between 2 to 3 quarts between oil changes. the rear main is seeping, but not 2qts worth, its not even leaving signs in the drive way. the front seal has been changed when i did the front cover. there is no signs of it leaking at the valve covers. i think its time for a rebuild. now if i can only get the $$$ for it.

Yeah, sounds like you are leaking internally and burning it. Look around on CL for a cheap engine to either rebuild or use as is and build your current one

Holy cow! That's a lot of shrinkage. No blue smoke/oil in coolant?

My wife's Cadillac CTS would burn 2 qts between oil changes (common for the CTS to have sticky rings). About 500 miles before the last oil change I ran Sea Foam in the oil and it cleaned it out (oil was black as coal when change). Now 2000 miles into this oil change it hasn't burned a drop. I will run Sea Foam at the end (last 500 miles) of every oil change now. It's worth a try if you plan to rebuild anyway.

Likely so being the 02 Ram had a 5.9 but a little off topic for this thread.
