New Trailer :)
Yesterday, my father purchased a new heavy duty dual-axle trailer with a 9,900 capacity. We are currently in the process of trying to sell a 68-acre piece of property in Bar Harbor (about 170 miles from where we live). Our goal is to sell it and buy a piece of property locally so we can develop the land with roads and house lots. We finally have our own trailer that will be able to haul any excavators, skid-steers etc. that we often rent. I could just see how excited my dad was. He used to do excavation/construction when we lived in Massachusetts and he's always dreamed out having the oppurtunity to develop a piece of property from scratch again. It's a pretty sweat trailer, has a hydraulic tilt as well. Check it out.

Haha oh no! Well my dad owns a 2010 Ford F-150 with the 5.4L v8 and 3.73 axle ratio; supposedly it's rated to tow 11,300 pounds. Obviously I hope he wouldn't tow that much, but I feel pretty confident that his truck would have no problem towing a 7,500 pound excavator such as a Bobcat 334 on a regular basis no problem. As far as my truck, I can't say the same. I think my truck could get away with it now and then but I don't put as much faith in the towing department into my truck as I do with the Ford.

yea those fords haul quite a bit better than our trucks IMO. We have a trailer just about like that, I went and bought a harbor freight winch and mounted it to the front. Its heavy enough in the tongue to where it pulls really good. Ive hauled a few cars but nothing as heavy as a bobcat or mini excavator.
I have to say though, Ive pulled it a few times in my buddies 07 duramax and a HUGE difference lol (as expected)

I've towed with GM and Dodge but never a Ford. I've always wondered why people say they haul so well when they've got the weakest engine in the class. Sure, at least their transmission has usable ratios where we're stuck with a dedicated downshift gear but that can't be it.
It's not axle ratios - we've got that covered too. What's so good about the Ford? It can't be the too-tall bed sides!
