over the 6.1? anything is more aggressive. i mean no offense whatsoever to those that have the 6.1 cam, but its barely an increase over stock (and only in hp at that! no tq gains at all). the 260 has good gains (as teach showed), but nothing spectacular. your best bet is gonna be the sidewinder. It can be tuned with just a superchips canned tune and doesnt REQUIRE any supporting mods, although each supporting mod makes it that much better. You will need 6.1 springs/pushrods, but those need to be done with anything except the 6.1 cam. If down the road you decide you want more performance, you can even custom tune the sidewinder and get some SERIOUS gains from it, especially on the low end.

How do you think I can shift at 6200, springs and rods man and an easy 25 HP increase over stock up high. I was luckey to offset the torque I lost down low with the headers and will not feel the headers benifit or power increase until I dump the 6.1 Cam. I do agree that the sidewinder as a better choice for sparta531 or any 03 owner. I am caught between the sidewinder and Moes Sniper at the minute.

Do you have the specs on the sniper cam? I have seen I on moes but never heard anything about it from anyone running it.

The specs are on his website and he's running it on an 03, I sent Bob an e-mail for more info and am awaiting his reply. I wanted to know what tuner he runs and the RPM Band. Info as follows:

This cam was created in a collaboration between Moe's and Sharadon Performance. It has a balance between low end and mid range power.
We consider this cam to be a great cam that works well with the stock computer. Tuning is always recommended for vehicles with aftermarket cams for optimum performance.
We ran this cam in our 2003 HEMI Ram.
Cam Specs:
Lobe Seperation: 115
Intake Duration: 212
Intake Valve Lift: 532
Exhaust Duration: 214
Exhaust Valve Lift: 530

AF, Dumb question but what is the "canned part" of the Superchips Tune? I have heard that word before. Can you explain.

If I was you, I would check around and see if there is anyone running that cam and if so, what kind of gains they are seeing. It seems like that cam is not very popular and it has me wondering why it isn't popular since so many guys go through moe's.

heres my take: its not popular because its not a good cam. they're banking on people assuming the 03 cant handle anything better (which I'VE proven wrong) and throw a name like sniper on it to make it seem aggressive. After even a small amount of research, people realize they can get a much more aggressive cam (like the sidewinder, crazy jay, crazy spartan, etc.) and tune it with a canned tune from SC or DSP (doesnt require custom tuning to operate) even with the 03.

I kind of figured the same thing about the sniper. It just makes me leary to go through all that trouble to install an unproven cam like the sniper when there are so many proven cams out there that could be installed.

jason you're gonna be runnin your sidewinder on just SC right? That should give some awesome data for these guys. Especially if later you decide to go custom tuned and can give a difference
