Default Confused...

So I took off my door panel and unhooked all of the connections just to take a look cause I thought something was loose inside of the door. So I hooked it all up and at first it didnt want to lock unless I locked it with the key remote then it fixed itself some how but now it does lock when I drive that first so many feet and it doesnt unlock the truck doors when I open up my door. Any ideas because I am just stumped.

I dunno we as owners look atg the unlock feature in our key fob not by opening the doors. I'm not quite sure whats wqrong here. your thread is half right anyway it is a safety thing that the doors auto lock when driven over 15 mph. btw.

page 18-19 of my manual says

Automatic Door Locks

if this feature is enabled, your door locks will lock automatically when the vehicles speed exceeds 15mph.
this feature is enabled when your vehicle is shipped from the assembly plant and can be diabled by using the following procedure

1. enter your vehicle and close all doors
2. fasten your seat belt( to eliminate other chimes that may confuse you)
3. place the key in the ignition
4. within 10 seconds cycle the key from the OFF position to the ON position 4 times; ending in the ON position(do not start vehicle)
5. within 30 seconds, press the the drivers door lock switch in the lock position
6. a single chime will be heard to indicate the feature has been disabled
7. to reactive this feature, repeat the above steps
8. no chime heard no good do it again

AUTO UNLOCK FEATURE
this feature unlocks all the doors of the vehicle when the drivers door is opened first. the following condidtions must be met.

-the drivers door must be opened first
-the automatic door lock feature must be enabled
-the doors of the vehicle must be locked automatically by the autolock feature
-the vehicle is in (P) park and the ignition switch is in the off position
-this feature will not operate if any of the above conditions are not met or the following has occured

-any manual operation of a door lock switch has occured
