sounds like you forgot to roll em down before you got to the checkpoint

Thats what we always did in Cali when a cop was around.

I love when people complain about getting caught. You are knowingly breaking the law, no matter how ridiculous the law is, so you should accept the consequences. If you have a problem with the law, write your lawmakers, but don't blame the cop for enforcing the law. I don't agree with most auto laws but I understand that when I get caught breaking one, I'm responsible for it. Congress is making a buttload of money sitting on their tails making these stupid laws to pass time, I'm pretty sure most cops would enjoy not having to enforce BS laws. But it is what it is. It all goes back to politics.

DodgeGirl I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba here in Canada. The front windows have to let in 50% of light in and the back has to let in 35% of light. My front ones were 6% darker and my back ones I dunno but it said it was too dark
Must just be a manitoba thing.. Over on the coast the front windows cant have anything but anything behind the front seats can be as dark as you want.. I have 20% on my fronts to match the back 2 door windows and 5% on my very back window, I dont see how people go any darker on there front windows, it took me a while to get used to seeing through 20% at night!! Whenever I see a cop the front to windows go down really fast

I don't know about Canada law, but in the states, most of them allow you to obtain a written prescription that will allow you your window tint. Some might make you get a permit and all that, but most just say you have to have the paper saying so. If you have the communication skills, you can talk your eye doctor into writing it.

Well, until recently my front Windows had three layers of tint, 20%, 5%, and 5%. My other Windows had the same as the front two but an additional layer of 5%. They were dark!

Rolling down doesnt always help. I did that once and way before he was even close but because my back window was tinted (within legal parameters) he asked me to roll up my door windows so he could check them.

I need to get a tint pass for mine then next time I go get a pair of new glasses.

Now that's just ridiculous. Way too dark for saftey reasons. I had a car with 20% tint and it was very dark at night.
I drove a few of my buddies cars with 5% and I had to roll the window down to be able to see pedestrians on the side of the road when I was making a turn. There should be Federal guidlines for this because there is no reason for 5% tint IMO, especially doubling it up. There's No way you can see backing up at night.

I got 35% tint because i wanted cops to beable to see my body outline at dusk which is when 20% tint gets super dark and hides everything.

Redone....Cops around Florida, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas are much more leanient than places that are up north and don't get as much summer heat. I can totally se why they can be douches up in Canada because it's practically winter all year round....lol
