A couple things. First, Faulkner dealerships are known for high prices in this area. Second, I am going to ask my sister's bf about that price being wholesale. He buys at Manheim so he would know if that is wholesale or not. But that seems way high for wholesale.

The problem with a diesel is you gotta have deep pockets! Not only is the initial cost higher, but the cost to keep it on the road is much higher as well. When I was fishing bass tourney's all over the southeast and had my Furd diesel to pull the boat, not only was the cost of diesel about 70 cents a gallon higher than gas at that time, but EVERY component whether it be a maintenance part or a part for repair, was 8 - 10x the cost of it's gas counterpart! And if you don't do your own work, forget about labor cost!!!

If you need a diesel for hauling/towing/workin' you can't beat them or if you or your mommy and daddy have deep pockets and you just want to be the biggest, baddest kid on the block, fine. But don't think about one for a daily driver, especially if you are on ANY kinda budget.

and Greggie, a quick peek at the Car section in my Sunday paper shows an '08 Thunder 4x4 with 21k on the clock for $21,995, '07 Hemi SLT 4x2 with 30k for $15,995 at one local dealer and an '07 Hemi SLT 4x4 with 38k on it for $17,995 at a different dealer. If that helps in your negotiation process...
