TRX4 package changed in 2008? Brochure?
All, I bought an 08 1500 with the things I really wanted on it. So happens it's a TRX 4. However:
Guys have mentioned skid plates & tow hooks as standard parts of the TRX4 package. Mine has neither.
Does anyone have a brochure showing what TRX4 should include in 2008?
I've got a weird equipment package. Got the printout from the dealership, it does mention TRX4 group and SXT group, a separate line item for each corner's spring, the TRX4 badge bright bumpers & grill, etc.
I think I have a ST, with 80% of what you'd get on an SLT.
(355 rear end, I haven't determined if it's open or limited slip, but I suspect open, as I've had some limited slip rear ends, and they'll give a little scratch when taking off turning sharply, this one doesn't. There's no mention of the axle in the optional equipment, it shows corporate 9.25 LD in the standard equip list. I assume LD is light duty. It also doesn't say open, LS or anything on the sticker on the axle. I'll jack it up and figure it out)

If memory serves me right to get the LSD you had to get a 3.92. As for the TRX4 package had all the offroad equipment. Once again I think it had tow hooks, skids, fog lamps, the 17in alloys. It was a package above the SXT but below the slt.
Did you but the truck brand new, or was it used? When I get home tomorrow afternoon Ill look in the brochure.

dealerships need to stop making everything so damn difficult, and just make sense for once. they advertise one thing, and sell something totally different on the lot, but call it the same. what gives?
The TRX isn't between the sxt and slt but instead is just a little better equipped for off road use. Also the LSD is not limited to 3.92 gearing and Dodger, by jacking up your truck and spinning one wheel hoping the other goes the same direction probalbly isn't going to tell you if you have a factory LSD. It's not quite the same concept as the old full posi set ups. Call your local dealer and give them you VIN and they can tell you what you have. If you have TRX4 decals but no skid plates, 3.92 gearing with LSD, the 17 inch aluminum rims, and a close to level setting, someon may have put the TRX 4 decals on for looks. If the truck came factory with the decals but none of the TRX4 options then whoever ordered the truck is an idiot.
I suggest you get your truck's build sheet so that you can compare what did they install in the factory with the dealer's list to see if it's different!
I think sometimes dealers make up their own truck packages in house!!
Here is the link! It will take a couple of hours to get the email back from Dodge! Good luck!!

Just fill it out and on the comment section tell them you want your truck's build sheet...

That’s the truck I just bought and I was told that the trx4 is the slt package with red skid plates, red shocks, and one other thing I can’t think of. The think is I do have those red shocks but no skid plates at all.
