Default whining noise

I own a 2006 Ram hemi. It has 35000 miles and started to make a whining noise from the front end between the speeds of 40 and 50 mph especially upon decceleration. This noise never occurs below 40 mph or over 50mph.

It is a very low whining noise but as well very annoying considering I drive my truck every day. Did anybody experience the same kind of problem? as well if somebody can help me to solve this issue, I would appreciate. Thanks.

45 mph is the sweet spot for my tires making that noise. its the perfect speed to make just the right vibrations to create the hum. agreed, pretty annoying, but nothing is wrong

Do you two have the same tires? Actually 60-65mph. is the sweet spot for things to represent themselves. af may actually be right. on the other hand. one of your locking hubs may be still engaged to the trans axle. That would give you a noise especially upon deceleration in my opinion. Keep us posted cuz It seems there is no definate answer here.

I still have the Good Year tires that were on the truck when I bought it new and I never had this hum before 35000 miles. Maybe it comes from the fact they are getting used?
I am going to rotate them and see if the problem is still there. Maybe like you said Rocket it is a trans issue. Thanks for your response anyway.

mine was making a whining noise in the 45 mph range. It ended up being worn gears in the rear differential. I couldn't really pinpoint the noise. Does the noise go away when you let off the gas? Might wanna check the front differential.

Could be your tensioner or alternator as well.
