Default add a leaf?

I am wanting to bring my back end up about 1". Got some extra lift on the front end from a leveling kit, and CV angles still look good.
What would you guys reccomend for a good setup?
I've seen add a leaf, blocks, etc...but I'm wondering what is the most popular thing to do, and something that isnt too complicated of an install.
The truck is a 2002 ram 1500 4x4. I also do a fair amount of offroading.

Thanks for any advice

add a leaf wont actually raise your rear, unfortunetly. They are designed to help with added stress to the rear springs due to a load.

I would recommend finding a set of 1" blocks for the rear, and an extended set of shocks. Some here may not agree with the blocks, but with 1" I dont see a problem.

I would recommend airbags, but in order to lift 1", they ride of your truck is going to suffer emmensly.

Actually add-a-leafs usually add 1.5" to 2" of lift.

I got 2" level on my 03 4x4 and even with worn saggy leafs my truck still sits a tad higher in the back. If you read up on add a leafs they do give you added lift. Check out performancelifts.com. With the added cost of new U-Bolts it may be worth the price of new leafs if they are old and rusty looking and sagging. Not saying the OPs leafs are shot and not sure what stance is wanted in the end. My plans for remedy are a set of HD3145 which are 4/1 leafs vice stock 3/1 for the 1500. i will gain 2" of lift and go from 1700 to 2040 lbs load, there are other benefits as well however with that new shocks would be in order.

Had some add a leafs on my old ram and they did two things. First, they did raise the rear end about 2" after the install. The more noticable thing was how much they stiffened up the ride. When the bed was empty the truck would bounce over even the smallest bumps. They were great when the truck was loaded down but without a load in the bed the ride really suffered from having the aal's on there.

If you do go the add a leaf route, go with the superlift add a leaf, from fatbobsgarage, I know most add a leafs do make the ride unreasonably stiff, but that one only lifted my truck about 1 and a 1/4 inch and it didnt stiffen up the ride unreasonably.

I have a 1" block on mine and like it. It wasnt too hard to install and cheap. Shackles are a good idea too, but I've read that whatever lift you get it only lifts the truck half that much. So for a 1" lift you would want a 2" shackle.

That's the one I went with, but I found it somewhere else cheaper than fatbobs.

I got them on ebay. They are technically drop shackles for a 2nd gen. 3rd gen mounts differently so they are lift shackles for us.
