depending on your truck and the year sounds like their trying to hose you. I called my local deal for a price on a new pcm for my 06 ram and price was $350 with a $90 charge to flash it.

A few months ago started having the same problem of cruise goes off at 5 mph. Under will turn on, above will turn off or not turn on. About every other week it will work properly. It would shut off randomly going down the interstate once in a while also. Mechanic going to check any codes while putting on new tires.
This is on a 2005 Ram 1500 with about 63,000 miles. I have 20 inch tires on - Any others having the problem with the bigger tires or is it a mix?

You are not the only one, mine cuts off around 5mph also, shouldn't this be a service recall since it is obviously a design flaw in their PCM?

Well, seeing as this thread only resurfaces every 2 or 3 years I kinda don't think you're going to see a recall. Besides, it's rarely the PCM, about 75% of the time I've looked at it for people I've found a vacuum leak. Most often where the hose is pinched near the brake booster. Also check for cracked hose ends or a broken hose clamp...

Vacuum leak? I was told the 2008 charger doesn't use vacuums or servos but only the PCM... where might this vacuum be?

Why are you posting in the 3RD GEN RAM TRUCK SECTION for help with a Dodge Charger? There is a section on this forum solely dedicated to the Charger...

It could also have to do with one of the speed sensors or abs sensors. Cruise will shut off for 'safety' reasons if it suspects an issue in several systems.

Because its a common problem across all Dodge vehicles.

Thank you Scott I will look into those systems, I do have codes for lean O2 sensors but I discovered that to be a vacuum leak behind the Intake manifold which I am having repaired tomorrow, I'll ask him to check those sensors while he does that.
