03' 360 cams?
I just want to know how much total cost will be of doing a cam vs total cost of doing roller rockers... I hear that when you do a cam that the cam is the cheap part, some people have said total cost can come out to like 1500 and more, I would like to do a cam more than the roller rockers, or even both if it will help a little, but I want to know what exactly I need to do for the cam...
rollindodge.....i would just do what ever krc said to do. they are cam experts. i just know what i have read in other posts about people installing the 210. i am no cam expert.
98cherryram... if all you do is the cam. i mean no tune or anything you are looking at about 750$.(doing it yourself) thats with all the misc stuff like antifreeze, full gasket set,oil and filter, cam lube.unless you go with a higher lift cam then you need to start replacing stuff like the springs and things. the krc 206 is a cam where you wont need to do anything else. stock parts will work with it no problem. and a good tune (sct) sure will make things better.375$ from hemifever with unlimited tunes.i will have about 2500$ in cam, heads, tune, timing chain, torque converter, and misc stuff.but i am not really worried about the cost as i am buying stuff over time. maybe just alittle more$.gonna get all new bolts and a couple special gaskets.rockers will take about 6hrs. cam swap will take a good couple days.i just totally rebuilt a toyota 22re. everything new except block and heads. i mean everything. it took me a little over a week and that was working on it for about 3-4 hrs a day. but took my time and tried to everything perfect. it runs great by the way. put a bigger cam in it too.(my sons rock crawler project) it has about a whopping 160hp. lol
its all in what you want and the skies the limit. you can easily spend 10k on a motor if you want. all i know is, i wish i wouldnt have wasted all my time and money for all my bolt on stuff cause the truck is nowhere close to where i want it. i mean it runs better than stock but not good enough. i would just sit down and think about what you want or where you are planning on going with your power first. and donnt get in a hurry. if you want to go for a full out build and donnt have a bunch of money just start buying things here and there till you get everything. but you have to have a plan first.

I think I would go for the 206 if thats about the best option for someone who doesnt want to go to deep into the project. Im not trying to make my truck into something its not, I mean enough power to make up for the big tires, thats about all, and not for the big tires I have on it now, because I will be upgrading to 37's when I go with the 6 inch lift, so making up for 37X13.5's is what I want to do.
i have decided to go with the 210 and get the 52mm throttle body, headers, and it will be getting tuned. at the end of that i will see where i sit for power and go from there. then maybe gears and a torque conv. will be in the short future ha
