Thank's AF, really like your honesty replys and i keep them in mind. But before buying, i'll get back here and every where to confirm. But here in Quebec, they kind a like California emission rules and they talk about it often. So i'd rather be carefull.

The stock cats are actually already high-flow. Aftermarket high-flow cats are a waste of money. Very little to gain if anything at all.

Longtubes are by far the better choice for any application. period.
1 of those 2 that have shorties are for emission........the other is because they have the 4.7

a very valid point ram man. I was actually just lookin that up. I thought i remembered longtubes not being available for 4.7 but wasnt positive, so i wanted to try to look it up. Thanks for clarifying. Longtubes are also not available for 2500s or 3500s.

wait wait wait, so now there is another thing i have to worry about? I have a 4.7 so does this mean i should get shorties? I just looked at stylin trucks and they barely had any headers for the 4.7 and the only ones that may be LTs were gibsos, but even they didnt say shorty or LT. What brand do most people purchase/ is a decent brand for the price?

You dont really hear many 4.7 owners sayin "hey guys I just got shorties and love them!" but from memory I remember hearing about Gibson or JBA. Try airram.com

Ok so if I understand this properly, they dont make LTs for the 4.7 yet the shorties for the 4.7 are nothing to write home about... so what would be a good alternative engine mod? Thinking of a programmer, should i just save my money and get one of those?

I think shorties would be towards the end of the list....but still on the list.
And yes a Superchip really changed my truck. I set my chip back to stock just for a few miles for the hell of it...never again. It amazes me how the truck doesnt even down shift unless you floor it! With a programmer (superchip or diablo) you will be very satisfied.

Yep start with the big 3. Exhaust, CAI, and programmer.
