first time spark plug change.
I went out an bought 8 new plugs and Im gonna change them soon but do I really need a torque wrench to tighten them to the specific rating or will I be fine just using my regular wrench?
Other then that it seems pretty simple to do

^^ yeah what he said. I generally go snug and then turn the wrench 1hr more. So is snug = 1'o'clock then go to 2'o'clock.
A little tip..When you are doing your plugs, the socket likes to bind itself on the spark plug threads sometimes so once you are torqued down, just put a tiny bit of pressure almost as if your gonna loosen the plug and that frees the socket from the plug.
Make sure you check the gap on all the plugs even if they are "pre-gapped".

The torque is 14 ft/lbs, but snug plus a bit is just fine. Remember, the head is aluminum. This came in very handy when I did my C. It and a couple different length extensions and a swivel will make it easier.http://www.harborfreight.com/extende...ket-91705.html
if its the new 4.7 that has 16 plugs they can be difficult. you will need to take off the airbox that hooks to the throttle body.
for a person that has never done a tune up before i would give it a good 3 hours or so.
personally when im at the dealer i can get it done in 45 min to an hour but i am a mechanic that does this 2 - 3 times a week with the exact tools i need

Didn't the 4.7 not get 16 plugs 'til the '08 MY? Plus, only eight get changed at the lower mileage. The bottom eight are good to 102K.

a friend just spent $424.00 to have his 16 plugs changed, oil change and wipers... It was worth the couple hours for the cash saved!
After seeing that astronomical number I think I will just suck it up and change them myself.
