Default opinions on Ball Joints

Just got back from vacation so it's time to start some repairs. I need upper ball joints and probably going to replace the lowers as well. Used the search function to see where some of you were buying them but didn't come up with much for the 1500. Are there any aftermarket brands worth trying?? Where can I find some at a good price??

2005 Ram 1500 QC 4WD 5.7L

Thanks

I was gonna say Moog also! the uppers you have to replace the whole control arm, only way they sell em! avoid OEM they are more money and not as good! rockauto is about the cheapest that I found last summer.

edit: typing at the same time!

Thanks. I know about changing the control arm (stupid design) and will check rockauto today. ODJ, I saw your DIY, just didn't notice a brand or place you purchased them on there so I figured I'd have to start a thread to find those answers.

Edit: Just ordered some Mevotechs from rock auto. Thanks again.

not tryin to be a butt, more confused. you say the uca has to be changed, but there are some listed on rock auto as uppers that are just the ball joints, as far as i can see atleast. and for only 37 bucks i doubt they are the whole control arm. please correct me if i am wrong, rather look dumb that be dumb.

you saw correctly, there are just ball joints listed on rockauto. but if you take a look at your UCA, you will notice that the arm, and the joint are one piece. can not be separated .

well that's kinda stupid, to have them listed on there like that and they can't be changed. thanks, had wondered about that. know with exploders the uca has to be changed, but didn't know if dodge did the same or not.
