Default Lifting and Tire Size Ideas

Right now I have a 2008 Ram Hemi Sport 2wd with a 2" leveling kit. It is currently running with stock rims and tires (20"rims, 31"tires). I want to lift the truck. The two lifts I'm deciding between are the 4" CST lift, and the 7" CST lift.

Here is what I am thinking. If I run the 4" lift, will the 31" tires look too small? Should I go with some 33's?

If I go with the 7" lift, what size tire would be a good size? Could I run 33's or would 35's be the smallest I should put on?

And if I run 35's what else would I have to do for it to run properly? Do I have to make any changes?

Thanks in advance, also any pictures of your truck with what size lift and what size tire would be greatly appreciated.

Go 7" and 35's...trust me, if you go 4" and 33s, you will eventually want to go a little bigger anyways. So, might as well do it to begin with

Well since you dont have front axles you can go as big as you want without worrying about cv joints, even with 4inches i would go with a 35". and the only thing you may want to look into to helping out your motor/trans is a gear swap to a 4.56 and a superchips would make driving a little more exciting as well

Go big or go home. I've talked to alot of people with lifts, and they all say go ahead and go higher so you won't want to buy another suspension system. Some people say the 4 inch isnt really that much of a difference. After I put on my leveling kit my truck seemed huge from stock lol, now I can't tell.

You can go bigger than those of us with IFS 4x4s can with a little less risk, but you'll still wear out front end components faster. With 7" of lift and 35" or larger tires expect to replace ball joints, tie rod ends and especially the rack at fairly frequent intervals.

IMO 33's would look great at 4" of lift and I'd prolly go 35" for 7" of lift. Although Pyro has 33" tires with 6" of lift and I don't think the tires look too small at all...

Correct me if I'm wrong but arent your factory tires 275/60 r20 thats a 33" tire stock
according to this Tire calculator http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html

So if your not happy with the look of your tires now you are going to HAVE to buy 35's or larger since you ALREADY have 33's
