My family members (Cousins) rides: 96 327000+ 1 rebuild original tranny w/ shift kit.
98 247000+ never been rebuilt.
99 240000+ never been rebuilt.
00 230000+ cummins
01 118000+ tranny rebuilt under warranty20000.
and me 07 57000+ Not a single problem.
All these vehicles are taken care of, and we due alot traveling and we pull campers. As far as I know none of these vehicles smoke or burn oil. Besides the 07, there all 2wd.
I tried to upload a picture with us all togther but it was to big.

I tend to use my truck hard as my previous posts have indicated. The rear axle thing was probably my fault in the long run. However, with 157,000 on the clock now, all I have had to do to the front end of mine is replace the pass. side wheel hub-2wd. I think the problem with a lot of trucks that are bought now is that they sit too long. My now retired mechanic had a theory a long time ago, that it is a lot better for a vehicle to be driven 200 miles a day than 2. No one belives me either when I tell them that my 03 Neon has 215,000 on it, and the ONLY thing done to the car was rear wheel bearings, and body parts when it was totaled last year. It's all about good maintainance

ya i also believe that driving your truck more and it will last longer, everything gets greased when the wheels are truing, rather than collecting deposits and sludge etc. i drove the chit out of my 95 tercel and only thing i had to replace was the brake lines blew the clutch at 230 000 km and sold it as is lol engine was rock solid, my mechanic was suprised i never blew the enging because i alway shifted at 5000 rpm lol thats where the "power" is in a 1.5L 95hp 4 banger hahaha
