Rotors - Did something stupid.
Hey guys the other day I replaced my front shocks, wheel hubs, rotors and pads. Lots of work getting those wheel hubs loose, took a better part of the day. So finally after shear heat exaustion I finally get the front end to the point where its just a simple rotor and pad job. I bought power stop cryo rotors and hawk ceramic pads - Love 'em!
Apparently Power Stop Cryo rotors are a LEFT and a RIGHT side. Well didnt find that out (cuz I started to rush when the job got easier) until everything was buttoned up and ready to go. I called power stop and they said as long as both rotors are rotating in the same direction its not really a problem - which after driving it for 2 days they stop on a dime...no shimmy or pull or weird pulse. They said if I put on a LEFT and LEFT or a RIGHT and RIGHT then one tire would be rotating oposite of the other which would be bad.
Now I dont have time to swap the rotors back to their proper sides cuz leaving on a road trip in 1 day and have to work. So my question is if I wait to replace my pads next year (which I generally do new pads once a year regardless of how much is left) can I flip the rotors around at that time without any problem? also Ive never had to cut my rotors once I started doing the pads every year, there was never any type of bad wear or damage cuz it never got to that point.
Thanks

The way the grooves are on the rotors which I cant show you a drawing. If you flip the left and right side then technically the grooves are rotating in the same direction on both wheels. If you put on 2 left ones for instance then the grooves on 1 tire will be rotating opposite of the other. The grooves are not straight lines but more like a curve...hard to explain without a pic of the groove pattern. They confused me on the phone and I was looking at the rotor.
Basically the way I have them on now the grooves sweep towards the doors when they are actually suppose to sweep towards the bumper when in a forward rotation...guess thats a better way to put it.

yea I think backward grooves would shear the pads more if they were facing the other day. Think of a broadhead, going in it cuts a nice clean hole but pulling backwards against the tapered side it leaves a gaping hole
same with your rotors. Instead of going with the rotation they are instead going against the rotation, giving more of a shearing surface at the beginning of each groove turn
