Well, The gross weight of the truck can't be that much. That would be a payload of +/- 3,000 lbs and it isn't that much. Tow capacity is usually in the neighborhood of 7,200 lbs or so.

You should find the GWR and GCWR on the door placard.

Oh, and Welcome to DF!

Hi and thanks for the welcome all the way from blighty (over the pond)
Ive taken this from the info i got using the vin number from the website i found on this forum, the ones ive marked with asterix is where i have done my sums from, gross combined weight rating i assume is the payload and max weight of truck, then ive added the towing allowance which i found elsewhere on the forum which is 2700kg = 5952lbs. sorry i was using lbs and kgs and added together doh!

I make that a total of 15,452 = 7000kgs which to me sounds in the right ball park but i need to be sure before i purchase the veichle

truck 5500lb
trailer 8300lb with 800lb tongue
1000 lb in the bed
and your pretty much maxed out

of course you must have the proper equipment on the truck to tow 8000lb, factory hitch will tow 5000lb with 500lb tongue

4x4 minus 500lb
20" rims minus 1000lb towing

theses are rounded off numbers

My truck has a GVWR of 6,650 lbs. Payload is about 1,200 lbs giving a curb weight in the 5,400 lb range. The tow rating is 7,800 lbs so the GCWR would be about 14,450 all-up.

That 9,500 GCWR you're showing would make for a towing capacity of about 4,000 lbs, which sounds low. GCWR is the truck, your "stuff" AND the loaded trailer. GCWR= "train weight" probably. Is your truck the 4.7?

DUH! I missed the displacement in your first post. Maybe that's why your GCWR is only 9,500 lbs.
