I found this on Craigslist, and he doesn't want much for it. Was this like stock. Would it be able to pull a boat ect?

The ad says it came off a 2004 Dodge Ram, so I think it will be ok. He wants $40 for it. Good deal right?

Yeah, they are about $100 new http://www.dodgepartsstore.com/produ...roducts_id=715
^^They also give the specs on what you can tow as well.
Here's the wiring kit http://www.dodgepartsstore.com/produ...roducts_id=720
I hear you have to pretty much take the rear bumper off to get it installed.

The difference is that the piece there bolts on to the support that runs from the frame rail to under the bumper. If the truck had a factory tow package that piece is welded to it.

if you buy it just make sure it comes with the bolts. the dakota i had there were two bolts that you had to fish threw the brace and they had a square piece of metal on them so you could tighten them down with out them spinning.
