Default performance question

i have been thinking of getting the superchip cortex for my 2004 dodge ram 1500. is it worth it ? does it give you noticeable hp and torque gains?

one other question . would you go turbo or supercharger?

Cant help on the super or turbo chargers but I dont know you had better have deep pockets.

As for the superchips, I would get the SC3865 and not the cortex

I second the Flashpaq 3865. The cortex is the same thing except it supports gas and diesel, has a 2 year powertrain warranty and it cost more. If you download the advanced transmission tune it will void the cortex warranty so the cortex isnt really worth it IMO.

If you are going with a turbo or blower you are going to need a tuning option that will allow for custom tuning. Neither of the SC options mentioned will give that to you.

What are your plans for your truck and how much do you want to spend? Is is a daily driver? Tow rig? Street/strip? If you let us know, then we can help out more.

Superchips will give you a nice little boost over stock, about 20hp. Free flowing exhaust will give you a little more, headers a little more. If you need/want more than that then you need to look into cam/heads, or a supercharger/turbo. If you do cam/heads/supercharger/turbo, you will need custom tuning, and like others said, superchips does not do it. You will need to go with Diablo or SCT.

Magnaflow is a very good system. The CompCams 260 is a good cam.

A lot of guys like the 260 and the good thing about it is they need no custom tuning
