unused plugs behind radio bezel

Default unused plugs behind radio bezel

just wondering if any body know what the unused plug is behind the radio bezel
its on the left half way down with a gray conector and a white and black wire i'll snap a pic if needed

Probably went to the center console if you have bucket seats.

just installed a new headunit yesterday and i found a wire pluged in to the bizzle and not to any electronics?????? take a pic.

its for the extra options that are available. Mine has 5 or 6 unused ones. Its cheaper for the companies to make one harness then to make several for the different options.

Sounds like the plug for the ashtray lights to me. Does it look like this one below my radio?

This is the best answer you can get without more information. Wire harnesses are standard. They just cap unused connectors or tuck into slots in the bezels if not used.

If you wanted more specific information about what each connector is for you would need to provide more details of your truck with emphasis on which OEM radio was installed.

Easiest way to figure it all out is to get a repair manual and check out the wire schematics in the back.

If its the one weed is talkin about, granted this is on my 08, thats a plugin for the lights for the cupholders.

ya it is below the radio to the left, i used weeds photo and circled it
i tested it but didn't get any voltage on it

if its on the right side with about 3-4 wires in it its for the airbag on/off in the standard cabs, quad cabs don't need it

try checking it with the lights on, Im betting thats the cupholder or ashtray light.
