Default 02 quad cab,strange Clunk

I have a strange "clunk" somewhere in the drivetrain. It only does it from stop.
I've checked the ball joints and trans mount, seems tight.
The differential was replaced under warranty at about 64K.
The truck now has 125k on it,it just started doing this.
This is an 02 Quad cab 2wd.with the 4.7
A friend said my spare tire was loose, tightened that, still have the problem.
I read through 34 pages looking for a similar problem on this forum to no avail.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Check to see if there's any play in the u-joints. There shouldn't be any at all.

I have checked the u joints and trans mount, both seem tight.
If the ujoints were getting bad wouldn't I have a full time "vibration?"

It doesn't "clunk" when I put it in gear.It only does it from a dead stop

Sway bar end links? I had a similar problem, and my driverside endlink is clunking in and out of position.

I would guess U-joints as well. My '02 just had to get them replaced, although I couldn't feel any play in them, they were visibly shot with a ton of vibration when moving.
