Default fan blower

Hey ya'll. I just noticed that my blower for the air conditioning and the heater only works on full. The other 3 speeds just are off. Where do I start to diagnose this. Does the fan have 4 different speeds, or does the **** have resistors in it?
All your help is greatly appreciated.

Those are the exact symtomes of a blown resistor. Earlier rams/durangos and dakotas were never known for keeping resistors lol.

As said, check the resistor. To do so go get your voltage meter and test each prong for voltage as you adjust the **** on the AC controls. At full speed the motor gets 12v. At lower speeds it gets less. If you need a part number for a new resistor then look in the links I have listed below and get the one for your truck.

Can I get to the bank from under the passenger side dash, or do I have to pull the dash? Doesn't it seem weird that all the resistors went out at once?

It is a resistor block and net several resistors. Im not sure where it is under the dash. Look in the links in my signature and download the Service Manual for your truck and use it to help you out.

Just looked at the manual. The resistor block is right next to the blower motor. It's really easy to get to from under the glove box. Just 2 screws and it's out. Pix provided. I'm anxious to see what a new one of these costs.

Just called the local dealer. They want 118$ for one of these. They're going for about 30 on ebay. I think i'm going to go with an ebay one.

I agree with ebay or the junkyard but keep in mind there are links in my sig link for the Parts Manuals you can download and get P/N's and search online that way also.
