Well, you could always throw in a much larger battery.

You have a capacitor on the lines going to your amps right? He doesnt have that so he would have to put ANOTHER inline. Yours is geared towards the stereo im sure, his is just the normal lights/comp/etc...I wonder what the stock capacitor is rated at?
i don't understand

there is no stock capacitor.

that is basically what a capacitor is doing, but it can discharge at a faster rate than a battery, witch prevents dimming

It's because the PCM controls alternator output and it is slow to react compared to the older, built-in regulator controlled alt. It is annoying but hurts nothing. Not worth spending money on.

Marx, there are built in capacitors....why do you think you unhook the airbag for 15 minutes before working in your truck

yes the air bags have capacitors, but only the airbags can use that power. They do not back feed to the truck

the airbags arnt the only part of your truck with a capacitor....youre computer keeps power at some point, obviously with a capacitor of some sort...none feed back to the truck, it would have to be hooked to the accessory lines in line as well.

the point is you have capacitors down the line. I dont care where or when. Are you telling me that your capacitor is hooked directly between the battery and your main power/ground? I have NEVER seen someone hook it up like that, its always on the power/ground of the amp,etc

The capacitors that ae built in the pcm from the factory are in the vicinity of 1uf(micro farad); where as stereo system caps are 1farad...1,000times larger than a micro.
With that bein said....I have a 300farad cap and my interior lights still slightly dim when my windows get to the top, not while the are going up, just when the top out(fully cosed and sill pushing the button) This is because even hough I have a capacitor, the power still has to go through the computer to feed the window power.

Mat99, my cap is connected to to my distro blocs that feed directly tomy amps AND my battery. Even if the leads are connected directly to your amps(which I have never seen in a professional set-up), hey are still technically connected directly to your battery as well. It would be the same concept of using distro blocks or even mounting it directly to our battery. Only thing is that you generaly place the cap as close to your amp as possible.

Im glad all of you have your thinking caps on and working together but what if it isnt a power issue but rather a ground issue. You can have all the power (volts and amps) you want but with a loose, poor, bad or corroded ground, you will have the same results as stated above.
