Hello everyone, newbie here about to pull my hair out!!! I have a 2006 dodge ram 1500 4x4 SLT and i'm trying ...key word...TRYING ...to change my front coil over struts, i removed the top strut nuts (3), then, tried to removed the bottom strut nut that connects the strut to the lower control arm....aint happenin!!! removed the nut, sprayed the hell out of it with PB blaster, and tried unbolting it,...hitting it with a hammer,...and so on, wont move, tried working it back and forth with a ratchet hoping to break it loose, wont move ....running out of options, this is my daily driver and i need it done!!! please help, and i was reading the shop manual and it said once that is done to removed caliper/rotor, seperate top ball joint, and remove....any short cuts or is that it...please help, thanks in advance...

Bigger impact gun, bigger breaker bar, or a torch.

I'd call it a night though, and continue after buying a spare bolt.

can you take a picture for us?

if you have any harbor freights around you i bough an air chisel for $15 and have used it quite a few times....one of the bolts on my fourwheeler a arm broke and I ground an X into the top of the bolt, cutting the head into 4 sections, and then and air chisel to break each section off...then the pointed bit to press the rest of the shaft out

After much searching, I found the following:
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...-2008-4x4.html

This particular tutorial covers completely removing the tension on this bolt.
I have not had a chance to try it, but I plan on doing so this weekend.

I hope that helps you/(and me) out.

Mine had 0 tension on it and still wouldnt come out. I beat the hell out of it, used an impact, tryed a C clamp to press it out. Nothing worked. There was just to much corrosion built up in the metal sleve thats inside the bushing.

This is how mine came out. Sawzall to the rescue!
