Default Winch mount help

I've been wanting to mount my winch to the truck but it seems like it's not going to happen because I have the body lift done does anyone know of a solution besides taking the lift off because the mounting holes are not going to match up with a bumper or a bumper guard. This really sucks

Thanks,
Ray

There have been some guys who have made their own mounts and put them behind the bumper

i cant see why you couldnt mount the winch and just cut a 3x5 hole in your bumper for a fairlead

Yep, I had to make the decision on whether to ditch my Warn grill guard and winch mount if I wanted to add a body lift to my suspension lift.

You NEED a winch mount attached to the frame to support the full weight of the truck.

So I'm staying at 4" of lift and 35s (not to mention the fact that tires much bigger than 35" are a REAL strain on CV axles).

The only way to pull it off with a body lift is to mount to the frame behind the bumper and hack what you have to from the bumper...

What a b*tch it was mounting your old grill guard on Pyro's '02! Didn't know till we got into the install that the damn tow hook holes are the OPPOSITE on the '02s only!!!

I only got to use your winch once so far and that was for some stump pullin'. Ain't got to use my old one I moved to the Jeep yet either...

I've been looking into this as well, I might mount a front reciever hitch for the winch and put it onto a reciever hitch cradle.
How much power do you need for a winch on our trucks? I'm rarely wheeling alone, this would be more of an emergency in a snowstorm kinda deal

Rule of thumb is 1.5x the weight of the vehicle...

I was really impressed after watching some vids of winch rope but the price of it is what scared me away.

Hammer, you know how 02's are man. Everything on them is different in a bad way.

And where is Pyro now. I never see him anymore

Man, he's pulled a disappearing act. He used to call me to go shooting about once a week or so and either txt or pop me on an IM every few days.

He got REALLY bogged down with that accelerated program for his masters degree and I think bit off a bit more than he could chew.
I ain't talked to him in a couple of months...
