My relay pack is different because its bixenon I believe. It has about 8 wires.

I just took it all apart and everything was tight when i took it off, all contacts were in excellent shape. I put it all back together, an blew the fuse because I was trying to put the relay on backwards, doh. At least I know that works. Gonna change the oil then head off to the auto store to get a fuse.

I am not too good with cars...but I saw a total of three ground points. One at the battery, one that was made for the headlights, and one next to the radiator reservoir. I dont know what that one was for. All looked clean. I dont know what I was supposed to look for on those.

If i cant get these working I will go back to halogen. What are some good, bright bulbs?

Problem still persists, so I ordered some new philips halogen bulbs to replace my HID kit because I need to be able to rely on them

does anyone know of a place in MS that can fix the strobing problem on my 05 dodge? I read the first post and the next 10 pages, however i dont understand it (sorry i am an idiot). I bought the truck a couple years ago and the lights just started flickering. i dont know what type of kit/relays are on the truck. i would much rather pay someone to fix it. i took it to a local car care clinic and they couldnt help. could the dealership fix it? any help would be greatly appreciated.

What part of post 2 do you not understand? Maybe we can clarify.

Maybe you can take some pics of your setup and post them. There are only two its avail though, xenon and bixenon

thanks for responding. I can take some pictures and post them but what do I take pictures of? The controller box? In the first post it mentions relay harness, resisters and compacitors. Unfortunatully. I dont know what those are. Again, I am sorry for being a idiot on this. I went to auto zone and replaced the relay that is right next to the controller box and it didnt help. If one of the bulbs were bad would it cause it to strobe/flicker on low beam? High beam works fine. Below is a picture of the relay I tried to replace.

that i a standard 12v SPDT (single pole double throw) relay. IF that is the one in your HID harness then you have a xenon kit where the HIDs are low beams and halogens are the high beams.

For flashing and strobing you either have one of two issues, you need 50 watt load resistors in place to trick the PCM into thinking you have halogen low beams also or your ballast are bad.

If you really want to know how to trouble shoot the ballast then find then, disconnect the 2 pin harness to them. Find which side is ground and which is 12v. Take some wire and ground the correct side and jump 12v from the battery to the 12v side and see if the flicker/strobe or not.

If they do, then the ballast are bad. If they do not and work fine, then you need 50 watt load resistors in place.

Thanks man...I am going to get a buddy to help me try this. If both lights are strobing would that mean both ballast are bad? He said we might have a ground wire loose somewhere. Does that sound like a possibility? Again, thanks for all the help. I cant find anyone around here to work on them.

Could be ground but if I recall correctly, each ballast has its own ground and there is only one other ground from the harness. So thats three total to check.

Sorry for re-posting this if it has been already answered.

I'm about to go over the road delivering horses and I am in a hurry for an answer and solution.

Installed HID fog lights. They worked fine for about 2 weeks. Then they quit.

Called HID manufacturer. They sent a relay kit.. installed it nope...still nothing.

Took out the HID's re-installed the factory stuff. They don't work either.

Fog light indicator on the instrument panel says they are on but no lights.

Bulbs are fine...

Who. what where, when how.. do I solve this.

Location of fuses to check etc...???

All help and answers very much appreciated.

regards,

Ric

Ric, you do not mention what year truck you have but Im assuming 06+?

If you took out the HIDs and put in the halogen bulbs and it still does not work then obviously the issue is not the HIDs as you know but rather something else and most commonly the TIPM that has gone bad.

But confirm your year so we can be sure.

Yup 06 it is.

Everything else seems to work ok ( knock on wood ) just no fog lights...

How do I fix, or repair?

The advice is much appreciated!
