You can install them ut the light output will generally be chit because those are halogen projectors and not HID projectors

2006 Dodge Dakota - I bought the CANBUS kit from HIDExtra on Black Friday
I installed the kit and the lights work fine (35w ballasts, 8k, etc..). However, once I turn off my lights or flash my high beams (halogen high) my low beams will not come back on..After I let the truck sit for a few minutes they will come back on again when I turn the switch and stay on. They work great for me and I love them but my problem is I can't shut them off because then I have no lights for atleast 10 minutes. Its like once the ecm goes into sleep mode and everything shuts off they will activate again. I bought capacitors from the same vendor to try to fix the problem (they actually recommended capacitors but said a relay was optional). Plugged those in Saturday and I have the same problem..nothing changed. Any ideas?

So I just recieved my 35w CANBUS HID kit from newegg, no relay harness included even though it said it did. I'm guessing I'm gonna need this before I even bother with the install, or can I temporarily run them without till the mfr sends me one.

Again, there have been some who went ahead and wired them straight to the OEM wiring and it worked but i like throwing fact of having a harness so the relay takes the load and not the OEM wiring.

But if you think about the HIDs we put on our fogs, they don't have a harness.

I used a relay kit for my fog hid's! They did work fine hooked straight up, but the start-up current isn't good for any of the OEM connectors(i.e.headlight switch, tipm, cluster.etc)

Yeah well see......uh.......I aint got those TIPM issues....LOL

Although i do agree the startup voltage is high and should be carried by a relay

I have a low beam HID kit with fogs too. The other night I went out, parked it for a little while, fired it up again and cut the lights on ( I have the low beams and fogs wired to the fog button) and nothing came on.. have had these working for 3 weeks until now. Thinking it is a blown fuse or a relay. Any insight?

Why would you wire low beams and fogs to the fog switch? And yes nothing working means no power so i would start with the fuse and then wiring.
