Whats wrong?
yep. same problem with my '02. cold air on the drivers side. I'm not going to pay someone a 1000. I'm going to have to take it apart myself. And I gotta do it soon, winter's coming.
Thanks for the videos.
Replacement blend door/actuator are only available at the dealer?

Okie dokey. head still spinning from being upside down.
Was able to see movement of the double linked actuator behind the cupholder. So, it's not the actuator, or the pivot points of the links. Movement roughly 70 degrees Door inside the housing busted?

What a royal pain in the ***.
Disassembled the dash. found all the actuators. seems that the 1 way above the fan, which modulates between recirc and fresh air, was jammed. Because I'm short on time, swapped actuators.
Rainy day, Ram inside carage, had to hurry to get ram drivable, to get '12 Journey in carage before severe t'storms hit.
Didn't remove the HVAC box, Didn't want to touch fluids/refrigerant. Got a better heat on the drivers side. Going to flush coolant system, mebbe acid wash heating coil, before winter hits.
Thank you for all the info and links, as Chilton's and Haynes really don't go into detail.

There is a mild descaler/cleaner we use on heat exchangers called Rydlyme. Supposedly safe, and that's with refrigeration machines.

Well, office lied to me, no rydlyme in shop. Bought Prestone engine flush. Couldn't drain radiator - blocked, not sure of the drain mechanism, don't want to break the plastic. Loosened up the t'stat housing and drained from there. Back flushed the heater core with a garden hose. Ran the flush thru as per instructions, drain, refill with with water, drain, refill with 50/50. Had heat @ 75 out drivers side, 105 passengers. When done, had 130 drivers side, 145+ passenger side.
Worked for 2 days.
No heat period. heater hoses seem hot. (blocked?)
Drain again- from t'stat. back flush core with garden hose. Got some fine rust particles, not a big clump of goo i expected.
Refill, still no heat. Heater hoses hot.
Guess i'll have to pull the damn dash again and fack with the double door for heat/bypass. the motor does move both arms.
This is a major pain in the ****.

Water pump? No, can't be. Truck doesn't overheat, temp. needle seems to be in ordinary position when 'hot' (approx. 12:00)
Both blend doors busted? Motor moves both arms, approx. 90ish degrees.
Heater core is higher than the hoses.......... air bound? how do you 'vent' the core? Air block would equal no flow. Would both hoses get hot?
It's either an air block or both doors are busted.
