Hi
My Fan for my heating went kaput today when i switched it up from low speed to high speed any one know what fuse to check, if thats ok where do i go next
Cheers your speedy response will be appreciated as its bloody cold over here.
Can't speak for the '04 directly, but the '03 does not appear to have a fuse other than whatever fuse is on the ignition switch. The current that drives the fan motor will always be limited by the resistor block that determines fan speed, so Dodge must have taken that into account. Seems strange to me not to have it separately fused.
Very simple circuit. The connectors have come loose, a wire has come loose, the fan motor is burned or the resistor block is open. That is pretty much all there is.
If you cant find a fuse or bad connection I would look into the key switch. Mine shorted out and gave my motor constant power and wouldn't shut with the key only the fan speed ****.
I had the resistor go out in my 04. The only speed I had was high. Take the resistor out and measure it with a meter. It's located at the foot well of the passenger side, held in by 2 screws and has about 4 or 5 larger wires going to it.
yes it is great news as the truck has cost me a few £ lately, new multi function switch, new rear light lens and bulb holder not to mention routine maintenance, tranny flush and new brake pads. still i love it
