Default Adding reardefrost..

So my truck does not have a defrost rear window. It looks like it was replaced at somepoint since the back door windows are tinted but the back window is not...so it may have had defrost at some point and they cheaped out on the window.

Anyways, I have heated mirrors so I have the defrost switch in the dash already. What I'm wondering is the worst case. Should all the wiring for the rear defrost be there already or would it be a matter of running all the wires and such as well (which would mean the time and money would be spent elsewhere).

Only reason I'm wanting to do this is my truck was bought to be a snowplow truck. Sometimes depending on the weather outside the back window will either fog/frost up or become covered in snow making work a pain in the ***.

Mine is a 04 SLT QC-SB 4x4, I have heated mirrors as well, but no Rear defrost.
In my fuse box, I have a relay and fuse for the heated mirrors, but no relay or fuse for rear window defrost.
My rear window was not tinted, but my two rear door windows were...

I looked into this, only thing that stopped was cost and finding a heated rear window to install. The pigtail may or may not be there (Mopars this vintage seem to have no consistency on this). If it is, then all you have to do is install window and plug in, it will turn on with heated mirror switch. If not, then you will have to get and install the harness to run it to the dash/fuse box. See here.

Man, I suspect a rear-defrost window sounds a bit pricey! Hope it's worth the expense...

I know the owners of two salvage yards here in town so the cost of the window is essentially free.

That's why it comes down to whether or not the wiring harness is there or not. Looks like it's time to explore.

look in the PDC, there's a spot for the fuse and for the relay,
I'm not sure, but I'd suspect if the connections are there. the wiring should be in place too.
