Default Water in passenger side

After a hard rain with lots of wind, the passenger side is wet. One spot is the carpet at the bottom of the middle post that separates the two doors. Then going forward, it is dry. I have a thick, deep, rubber mat that had water in it like it dropped from the post where the grab handle is and the carpeting where you put your feet was wet also, like maybe when the rain slowed down it trickled down the side not hitting the heavy rubber mat. Just guessing at this because it rained on sunday and the truck never moved. when I got in on monday to go to work, what caught my eye was the rubber mat had a lot of water in it. When I examined further, the carpeting in both places was wet. Several years ago when the truck was still under warranty, I had water coming from the grab handle post. I got in the truck when it was still raining, and saw the water droplets. The dealer told me they had to "blow something" out on top and then it stopped. I have no clue what they "blew" out. Any help here would be extremely helpful.

grab handle, I assume this is in the Front seat and NOT the back seat??

There are water channels on vehicles with sunroofs that get clogged and cause your issue's, but on a vehicle with a solid roof, there is nothing to blow out. The only thing they were blowing was information out their azzes. You either have a door seal leak or your windshield seal has a leak.

I agree, it is either a clogged sunroof drain if you have one, windshield or door seal. If it was the rear floor area, I would say 3rd brake light or rear window seal.

I had the same problem on my Dak and the dealer said that was a bad windshield seal.

They fix it under warranty and have no problems after almost 3 years...

sorry, yes it is the front. yes, I do have a sunroof. the heavy rubber floormats have raised channels that are raised and go in different directions. the water that was on the mat stayed in one area. more towards the back of where you put your feet than the front where the windshield is, in a puddle. I'm thinking something is clogged, but I don't know where to look. Also, the post that separates the front from the back where the doors close. at the bottom of that the carpet was wet. Could it be the same thing clogged? Where and what do I try to clean?
thanks for the quick responses. It's getting ready to rain again here and my stomach is churning.

The end of the tube is in the door jamb below the hing on both sides. The end is rubber and if you open it up all the water and junk will come out. The other two are between the box and the cab and you'll need a stick or something to get them to open up a bit.

If your going to blow them out with air (you can only get the the front, the rear require some disassembly) from the top of the sunroof be very careful not to use to much pressure.

I sometimes get leaves, pine straw or bugs in mine and have to make sure they are cleaned out. Usually when I am washing the truck I do it then.

I found the end of the drain in the door jam. Stuck about 1/2 inch of a screwdriver head in the hole. It came out with just a little dirt on it, but nothing drained out of the hole. I then stuck about 3ft of weedeater line in it, when I pulled it out, it was clean. Does anyone know where the other end is? I thought of using a thicker cable but I would really like to know where the cable will come out. This truck has been in the shop 3 other times for this leak. One time they said they blew the drain out. The next time they said they replaced the door rubber. The next time they said they pulled the roof glass off and re-sealed everthing. The windshield has been checked and that is not it. Now it's out of warranty and they don't care. Not rich and need to get this fixed. We had really wicked rain the other day, of which I drove thru approx. 1/2 hour. Rain was very heavy and going sideways. No water in truck. I washed my truck over the weekend, no water in truck. It only leaks when it rains and the truck is still and on the passenger side. I back it into my driveway, so it is in a downward slope towards the front of the truck, if that helps. Anyone got any ideas?

open the sun roof and look in the front corners you will see them. The rear ones you cant see.

You might want to remove the A pillar trim (the grab handle's) and have a look at the tubes for a crack or hole.

Also read this TSB 23-003-04 this could also cause the same problem

open your sunroof and in each corner (there will be 4) there will be a drain that has a hose the front ones run down your a-pillar (windshield post) and the back one run down your c-pillar (back window post) once you find them take a air hose and blow air through them if they are clogged up this will un-clog them. if that doesn't fix the leak have a buddy run a water hose around all the edges starting with the windshield, pull the front edge of the headliner down so you can see the windshield jam area. usually when we have a water leak at work it is either the windshield 9 times out of 10 or its the sunroof. sorry for the long post but hopefully this helps
