Default 318 heads on my 4.7?

a buddy of mine told me i could put 318 heads on my 4.7 block... is this true? would it make more power and/or run better?

Seem unlikely, since the 5.2 is OHV and the 4.7 is OHC.

The 318 is a push rod engine, the 4.7L is an overhead cam engine, not possible.

Your buddy lied to you. 318 heads will fit a 360, 273 or 340 (same engine family). 4.7's will only accept 4.7 heads. You CAN, however, adapt certain ford 4.6 power parts to the 4.7 (see airram.com).

Yep, I gotta agree. No way any pushrod head is going on an overhead cam engine...

All head switching accomplishes is messing up your computer. Fuel/Air ration changes.
